Reps election: 313 male, 12 female to receive INEC return certificates

A total of 324 Candidates who won the House of Representatives election including 12 female lawmakers are expected to receive Return Certificates from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, Nigerian Tribune can report authoritatively.

Meanwhile, all the seats allotted for Sokoto State are currently vacant, while INEC is expected to conduct supplementary election.

As at Tuesday evening, the Commission removed the name of the embattled Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa from the list of candidates scheduled to receive the Certificate of Return.

According to the Commission, the earlier declaration of Hon. Ado-Doguwa as the winner of the House of Representatives’ election for the Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State was done under duress.

Documents released by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), out of the 8 lawmakers who won the election in Abia State, Labour Party secured 6 slots while All Progressives Congress (APC) got one seat while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also got one seat.

In Adamawa State, PDP got seven seats whole APC got one seat.

Out of the 10 lawmakers who will represent Akwa In State, PDP got 9seats while APC got one seat.

From the 11 seats allotted to Anambra State, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) got 4 seats, YPP got one seats while Labour Party got 5 seats.

Meanwhile, a supplementary election is expected to be conducted by INEC for Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State at a latter date.

Some of the returning members of the 9th Assembly that secured return tickets are: the incumbent Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and his Deputy, Hon. Idris Wase; Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Muktar Betara; Chairman, House Committee on Finance, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; Hon. Bamidele Salam (PDP-Osun); Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Peter Akpatason; and Hon. Khadijat Bukar Abba-Ibrahim.

Others include: Chairman, House Committee on NDDC, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Benjamin Kalu; Hon. Blessing Onuh; Hon. Haha Usman; Hon. Mutu Nicholas; Hon. Pondi Julius; Hon. Victor Nwokolo; Hon. Waive Francis; Hon. Ereyitomi Thomas; Hon. Igariwey Enwo; Hon. Ogah Chinedu; Hon. Ihovbere Julius; Hon. Demi Bamisile; Hon. Fatima Steve; Hon. Dennis Agbo; Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, Hon. Nnaji Nnolim; Hon. Onuoha Marian, among others.
