“I’m tired and I just need a break for a short while (to) have more time for me, and my family to re-energise,” she said in an official statement shared on the Nova website in October.

Ritchie added that she was the type of person to “invest a lot of emotional energy into everything I do.”

“My work, and my family especially, and the last few months I have been working on radio, I’ve been returning to TV and in my spare time I even wrote a children’s book,” she said.

“It’s time to recharge the batteries and come back fresh next year.

“And although it’s only for a short time, I will miss you all. I’ll see you in the New Year.”

On Friday, Ritchie posted a picture of the Nova studio to her Instagram, saying she was looking forward to her return in “a few more weeks.”

“Hi all, I’ll be away for a few more weeks but in the meantime make sure you tune in to the guuuuys who will be back LIVE in the studio from 4pm Monday!” she wrote.

“By the way, I’m doing well and excited for 2023.”

In December last year, Ritchie was forced to release a statement after an Australian newspaper published photographs of her at a private mental health clinic in Sydney.

The Daily Mail Australia published photographs of Ritchie arriving at and leaving the facility, an act the popular radio host and TV personality described as a “shocking invasion of my privacy.”

Hours after the Daily Mail splashed the photographs on its website, Ritchie released a statement on Instagram.

“As announced previously, I am taking a break until next year,” she wrote.

“The last year has been incredibly emotionally challenging, as well as a relentless schedule, stress, and a lack of sleep.

“I came to realise that this had led to an unhealthy reliance on alcohol.

“So I decided to use this time to do something positive by getting the help I need from professionals who specialise in this area.

“As everyone would understand, this is a very big step for me to take.

“I want to sincerely thank everybody who is supporting me.”

Her latest update had fans ecstatic to hear that she was “doing well.”

“Woohoo cannot wait! So glad you are doing well,” one fan wrote.

“Can’t wait to hear you when you’re ready,” wrote another.

“Glad to hear you are doing well, can’t wait to hear you back in the studio when the time is right,” said a third.

“So wonderful to hear you are doing well Kate, stay well and safe and invest in you first,” added another.
