Blue Apple Educational Foundation board of trustees inaugurated


The Board of Trustees of Blue Apple Educational Foundation was inaugurated recently.

Speaking at the inauguration, the President of the foundation and chairman of the board, Engr. Akan Michael, said he was happy that the foundation, which had a humble beginning to serve generations has continued to grow meeting its mission and vision.

According to him, apart from organising its flagship, the National Engineering Science and Technology Essay Competition, (NESTEC), he said that the foundation is also publishing a technical journal named, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Innovation Journal, (STEI).

The journal is the first of its kind in the country.

He said that the journal was submitted to TETFUNDS last year for consideration for a grant.

Members of the trustees include Engr Isaac Adekanye, Engr (Dr) Atinuke Owolabi, Dr Enobong Okure, Abdulbaki Ahmad, Nsongurua Peter, Frankline Eberechukwu and Desmond Peter.

Dr. Atinuke Owolabi said she was glad to be appointed to the board to serve. She applauded the foundation for having as one of its mandates the award of scholarships to deserving undergraduate students.

Engr Adekanye said he was happy the foundation has a long-term transition plan grooming the young ones to continue the running of the foundation in future. He said the young ones on the board will be mentored and all will learn from each other.

The chairman of the board used the opportunity to announce the upcoming annual Award Ceremony of NESTEC that will take place on June 3.

The board is made up of seasoned professionals, young graduates and undergraduates.
